How to clean Tube Ice Machine

Tube ice machine requires regular maintenance to ensure stable operation and long-term use of the equipment.

During the use of the equipment, mechanical parts wear, gaps increase, and coordination changes will directly affect the stability, reliability, and efficiency of the equipment, 

which will reduce it to a considerable extent, and even cause the mechanical equipment to lose its inherent basic performance. Increase operating costs.

Therefore, regular maintenance of the tube ice machine is essential for the service life and ice-making effect of the tube ice machine.


1. Water Tank Cleaning 

Both the water tank and the water pump should be kept clean, free from any debris accumulation. When sediment appears (accumulation of foreign objects or clay is excessive), 

the water tank should be thoroughly cleaned. If the machine is idle for more than a day, the water tank should be cleaned before restarting to ensure ice quality. 


The specific cleaning steps are as follows:

1. Shut down and turn off the main power.

2. Drain all water from the water tank through the drain valve. Use a cleaning agent and a long-handled brush to clean the dirt inside the water tank. 

Rinse with clean water several times until no dirt remains.

3. Fill the tank with fresh water until the liquid level stops when the float valve stops supplying water. Then, the machine can be restarted.



2. Evaporator Tube Cleaning 

In prolonged use, a small amount of dirt may accumulate on the inner wall of the evaporator tube, requiring regular cleaning. The cleaning frequency depends on water quality. 

In areas with hard water (high lime content), it is necessary to clean every 3-6 months, while in areas with normal or "soft" water, twice a year is sufficient. 


The specific cleaning steps are as follows:

1. Drain the water from the water tank first. Add clean water to fill 90% of the tank, close the water supply valve, and add 2.1 liters of high-purity citric acid to mix with the water.

2. Turn off the refrigeration compressor and the liquid line shut-off valve. Start the water pump (without cooling) to circulate for about 2-3 hours. (Press "Start Cleaning" to clean and "Stop Cleaning" to stop.)

3. After draining the wastewater, fill it with fresh water for about 30 minutes to wash off the remaining cleaning agent. Drain the second time. 

Repeat the cleaning process more than twice to ensure the cleaning agent is thoroughly flushed.

4. Open the water supply valve, and restore the refrigeration system to return the machine to normal operation. Fill with fresh water until the float valve stops supplying water, then the machine can be restarted.



3. Water-Cooled Condenser Cleaning

During operation, the scale will form inside the pipes of the condenser, affecting heat exchange efficiency. It should be cleaned regularly to improve refrigeration efficiency. 

The cleaning frequency depends on water quality. In areas with extremely hard water, it is necessary to clean every three months, while in areas with normal or "soft" water, cleaning twice a year is sufficient. 

The cooling system includes a cooling water tower and a water-cooled condenser, both of which should be cleaned promptly to ensure smooth operation and prolong the machine's lifespan. 

The cooling water tower should also be cleaned as needed to ensure efficient ice-making.


Specific cleaning steps are as follows:

1. Shut down and clean the cooling water tower first with a brush.

2. If the cooling tower is higher than the condenser, drain the cooling tower water or close the inlet and outlet valves of the condenser and the cooling tower.

3. Open the drain valve under the condenser end cover to drain the water from the condenser.

4. Remove the end covers at both ends of the condenser. Use a dedicated condenser brush to clean each copper tube back and forth, then rinse with water several times until clean.

5. After cleaning, reinstall the end covers and connect the pipes.
