Why the ice is pure?
Because the crystallization process is relatively slow, the gap between the ice crystals is small. The slower the crystallization process, the denser the crystallization. Conversely, quenching will cause different temperatures to crystallize in different regions of the water, creating gaps in the ice due to the difference in density between ice and water. The smaller the gap, the more transparent the ice crystals.
